This is a day that we have waited a long time for! The trusses arrived. Yeah. They had some trouble getting the truck down our winding driveway but with some maneuvering and moving the crane they squeaked their way through. Cals brother-in-law, Barry, our neighbor - Gary Pratt, and good friend - Norm Fair were on hand to help get things started. This is just the beginning!

You may get very tired of pictures like this but we are basking in the view every opportunity we get. This happens to be the angle that we get from our master bedroom window. There is nothing so grand as Gods artwork.

My mom came over to give me a 'hand' in cooking, cleaning and gardening. This has been such a blessing during this time because we are finding out just how many things I am not able to do with only one arm working. While she was here Cal put the shower in our ensuite. She thought she would sit in it and pretend to have the water massaging her!!! I think she is enjoying it!

This is looking at the foyer window from the top of the stairs. It is 8' long but will have three windows in it.

This angle shows the second bedroom upstairs and one side of the hallway.

Hey, grandpa is putting in the tub/shower that you will be able to have a bath in, Joel. This is the main bath on the top floor. The weather has been so wet that Cal feels he is 'in the shower'!

Well, this was one tough wall for Cal. It is the foyer wall which has an 8' x 2' window at the top, as well the roof lines that have to 'fit' in. Anyways, he has had to work through some very lousy weather so he is truly 'slugging' along...I feel so sorry for him.

Since Joel is always wanting to see another picture we are including a few extras - even though they show only a little progress...so bear with us.

These are two closets...one on the left is at the top of the landing and at the end of the hallway. One on the right is in the front bedroom.

We were very blessed to have Cals brother - in- law, Barry Lanyon, give up one of his days off to come and give Cal a hand. They accomplished much.

Joel, this is for you! You always want to see a new picture so here it is. This is the top floor wall...with grandma and grandpas bedroom window way over at the end and then the next window is a bathroom and this big one is a spare room. It looks like a big window but grandpa hasn't finished it yet...it will be a smaller window with a seat that you can sit on and look at the eagles!
Pretty soon you will start seeing a roof going on.

We are ready for the second level. Cal is just completing the flight of stairs to the top level. I am sitting on the landing. It is getting very exciting.

this is my war wound. Yes that is the beginning of bruising and there is plenty more! It is healing very nicely and I am getting more and more movement and motion from the shoulder...can hardly wait because I don't enjoy resting this much!

still a little nauseated I am home recuperating from shoulder surgery. Cal will be building without his right hand woman for a few weeks.

Yep! we are making steady progress. While the youth team was doing the yard work, Cal was busy doing the floor joists. He shocked me by getting all of them up today. He still has hangers to put on as well as some blocking and cross pieces to nail on. He thinks we may be doing plywood next saturday - I'm afraid he has to go back to work next week.

Hey, what a team we had working at our place today. The youth ministry team, along with Stan Parker (the youth pastor) came out today (saturday) and helped spread dirt, seed lawns, spread sea soil, and plant some plants. The team is made up of Jeff, Kass,Nick, Stan,Dan,Michael, Matt, and Claire. They made short order of what would have taken me, Christina, a month to do. Thanks team - you are awesome!

april 5, 2006 - We have pretty much finished the main floor. Today Cals brother Sheldon came over and helped nail the plywood on the exterior walls. We had some good laughs and got lots of work done. We so appreciate the time he gave us on his day off!

This view is of the kitchen, from the start of the hallway. It's finally taking shape. Both of us still look at it all and it seems so unreal - we have waited so long for this dream to take shape!

You are looking down a hallway from the kitchen. There is the office, then the bathroom (shower is in place), mud room and then laundry room

These front walls went up fairly quickly as they were 'short'.

Well, with Cal on holidays we are seeing things taking shape! Yeah! Today is Saturday and we have finished all the 8' main floor walls. Still left is the family room and garage which have 8'7" and 8'10" walls.
