Nov. 29, 2005
Our first snow left us with wonder and amazement! Yep, it was the usual HEAVY snow which caused the weeping willow to lower its branches and it showed Cal that his prototype needed some 'stabilizing'.
Cal will have at least a couple days break from pouring cement now!

Cal has everything mapped out. He mixes the cement, pours it into the tractor bucket. After two loads he dumps the tractor load into the form. It takes about 8 or 9 tractor loads. He has now rigged up lights so that he can do one slab an evening and he hopes to do 3 a week. He has 31 slabs to do and today he completed # 6!

Cal is ingenius. That white piece of PCV pipe is what makes a little trough in each cement pad. Yep, it is the little drain. He has angled each pad so that the water will run off the pad into that little trough! Pretty Good, eh?!

Here is the driveway that we have started.

Cal is doing it in 5' x 9' pieces. This shelter keeps him dry when pouring a slab. The 'cloth' that is down is protecting the other slabs as he uses the tractor to dump the cement. He says it is much easier than using a wheelbarrow up the hill. Hmmmm....that sounds like someone who is trying to make the job easy!!!!
