After the work is done we sit outside and take a deep breath and thank God for His handiwork...this is around 8pm

This is the living room fireplace. Haven't decided on the finish yet but at least it is in place. Today Cal will finish the family room one and then he can work on the lower level of siding. he's wanting to get that done before the weather changes - that is the storm side of the house.

LIGHTS! Yeah. They aren't all in but the basement and main floor are done. This is the main floor bathroom one. Cal and I are like a couple of kids walking around the house turning lights on and off - oooh and aaahing at each one. And then checking out all the 3 way switches. Slowly we are getting rid of extention cords! While this is happening I am scrubbing/washing the drywall muck off the floors in preperation for flooring to start next week. Cal has finished the upper level of the house in siding and is working on the fireplaces.

Then on friday, sept 22, granny Beitel took a fall, and what a fall it was. She scraped her nose, and forehead. Drove a tooth into her lip. Scraped both knees and what you see here are the results of a broken humorus (at the stop of her arm). It is so high that they do not cast it so she is struggling with lots of pain. We are praying that it stays put so that surgery is not required.

We went through alot of paint!!! Here are 2 of the 3 five gallons pails used, as well as 22 of the 32 gals used. Carolyn Nelson came over and helped us finish up on the monday. Thanks so much Carolyn. Our colors: Moselle, saltbush and maison blanche - all greens. Bluff and Shaker beige - beige tons. and Davenport tan - looks like melted chocolate on the walls.

Chris's brother Ward came over and put in all the doors/trim and sprayed them. Then he went on to paint the house. It took him and Chris 2 1/2 days to complete 2 coats on the whole house - interior. He is an incredible worker and his cut-in - amazing!!! We are so happy with it all.

Meanwhile, while I was off 'galavanting', things were progressing rather surprisingly back home. We could not have planned the way things came together - truly the hand of God intervening. The drywallers started a week earlier than planned and because they had 3 jobs put on hold unexpectedly, they were able to have a crew of 5, instead of 2, on our job....thus they were finished in only 2 weeks. Those happened to have been the two weeks that I was gone, so I didn't even meet one of them. Since they were working inside this put Cal to work outside doing the siding. He got a good start and it looks great. We will probably leave the painting til next spring when the weather is brighter. Also, during this time the soffets and gutters were put in. So, we are now ready to start interior painting...that is once we complete the cleanup from the drywallers!!!! Its getting closer!

What an incredibly exciting summer. We waited for two new additions to the family. Natalie Ann Baker arrived on August 30th and Samuel (Sam) James Nelson arrived on September 9th. I spent 1 week with each of the families, helping out. What fun to hold those little ones and have time with the 'bigger' ones. Also visited with Ang in Williams Lake and saw their place. My thoughts of Williams Lake changed as she showed me around. It is quite a beautiful little town.

This truly was a big year for birthdays. I didn't have my camera the day we celebrated Cals moms 85th and his auntie Helens 80th. But we had a blast as we had the Nelsons sisters together for a High Tea party at Lydias. Then we surprised my mom for her 80th...she still can't get over the excitement of the day. My brother Dean and his daughter Brittany were able to come over and we had four of her 6 surviving siblings here. Auntie Kay very graciously hosted the party.

In amongst celebrations - Cals sister, Lydia, turned 50 so Carolyn and I planned another surprise. We picked her up Saturday morning and stole her off to April Point. We had a great time walking, chatting and of course eating!!! Congrats, Lydia!
